In this article I'm going to look at supporting your training efforts with adequate protein and carbohydrate intake. I've already discussed sources of these two macro nutrients in previous articles (please see below), now lets look at quantities required and timing.
My previous articles have looked at nutritional advice for losing fat, but I've also had many requests for the flip-side of this – nutritional advice those training in gyms for improved performance and body composition. This remit may of course still require some fat loss, but also increased muscle tone, muscle mass or simple recovery between training sessions so you can give it your best next time in the gym.

Laceration, Saturation & Jubilation - My Spartan Race Experience
Sunday 24th July saw a 15-strong crew from Unit One Gym complete the gruelling Spartan Race at Bassingbourn Barracks over 5 kilometres of extreme terrain and obstacles.
As the surging horde of honorary “Spartans” charged towards the lake from the start line, a fire hose discharged a high pressure water blast at the runners, setting the scene for what was to come.
